Deadtime Stories - Walkthrough

Deadtime Stories


  • Click the apple and lemon hanging from the trees to add to your inventory.
  • Click the mailbox. From the window, click the mailbox and click to take the intricately shaped brass plate. To close the window, click the X.
  • Click the rock to move it, then click the area where it was. Click to take the empty bottle.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the red twine is added to your inventory.
  • Click on the boards leaning against the shed (far left).
  • Enter the shed.

Deadtime Stories


  • Take the watering can.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the key is added to your inventory.
  • On the desk, there are four drawers.
  • Left drawers:
    • Click the top drawer and take the salt.
    • Click the bottom drawer and take the plant book. It will open to reveal its contents. Take note as this contains pictures of items you will need to find later. To close the book, click anywhere on the screen (but off the book). Make sure to take the clippers.
  • Right drawers:
    • Click the top drawer. “Open Me” is written on the drawer. Click to close the drawer. To close the window, click the X.
    • Use the key to open the bottom drawer. Click to examine. A puzzle starts. To spell out the phrase, you need to click on the letter you want the viewer to move to. Solution: openme. Click to take the spell book. Take note of the ingredients needed for the spell to unblock the gate to the house. Ingredients already in your inventory have a checkmark beside them. Click off the book to close it.
  • Click the wooden box. According to the message at the top of the screen, it won’t open however it’s missing an intricately shaped item. From your inventory items, click the intricately shaped brass plate and place it on the box. Click to open the box. Take the mint and cloves. To close the window, click the X.
  • Click the snake and plant in front of the window (centre). Click on the snake to get its attention. The spell calls for an Envenomed Apple. Once the snake is up and ready to bite, from your inventory, click the apple and use it on the snake. Use the apple again on the snake. You now have an envenomed apple. To close the window, click the X.
  • Click the centre area on the desk.

  • This is where your spells will be performed. Click to take the graveyard ash and holy water.
  • Leave the shed.
  • On the brown patchy area just below the gate opening, use the watering can. Use the clippers until you get the Solomon’s Seal.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. You are prompted to check the plant book. Once completed, the Devil’s shoestring is added to your inventory.
  • With all the ingredients for the spell collected, go back to the shed.
  • Click on the centre of the table to perform the spell.

Deadtime Stories


  • Check the spell book and make note of the ingredients. In no particular order, take all the ingredients (except the red twine) and place them over the glowing seal.
  • Once completed, a poem will appear. In order from the poem, take the items from the seal and add them to the bowl. Click the bone to stir, making wide circles. Click the bowl and add the spell to the empty bottle. Place the red twine on the bottle. Click OK to add the potion to your inventory.
  • Leave the table and leave the shed.
  • From the inventory, take the Banish Spirits Amulet and place it over the gate.
  • Enter the house.

  • Check the spell book and take the note of the ingredients needed for the next spell.
  • The piano is locked.
  • Click the table in the centre of the scene. Click the little bag of hexbones. Rearrange the hexbones to spell a message. The hexbones in green are in the correct position. Click bones to swap their positions. The message is “LIGHT A SPARK TO REVEAL MY FATE.”

  • Click down to leave the table.
  • Go through the left door.

  • Click the cupboards for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the empty jug is added to your inventory.
  • Click the bottom cupboard and take the wooden bowl.
  • Click the top drawer. Click to open the drawer. Take the wick. To close the window, click the X.
  • Leave the kitchen and then click the door on the right.

  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the pump is added to your inventory.
  • Take the pump handle and empty vial.
  • Click the music box on the bed. Click to open it. Take the piano key.
  • Click the statue. Put the empty vial on the statue and the pump beside it.

  • Squeeze the pump to collect the tears. Once prompted, click to take the tears of a saint. To close the window, click the X.
  • Leave the room.
  • Use the piano key on the lock on the piano. Click to examine. Take the matches.
  • A puzzle starts. The piano plays a few notes and you must match them. Once finished, take the white pepper. Click down to leave the scene.
  • Leave the house.
  • By the large tree, click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Use the scissors to the get the onion flower, which is then added to your inventory.
  • Enter the shed.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the oil can is added to your inventory.
  • Leave the shed and return to the house’s kitchen.

Deadtime Stories


  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the sponge is added to your inventory.
  • Use the pump handle on the water pump. Place the empty jug at the base of the pump. Click the handle to start the water. Take the jug of water.
  • On the lantern on the table, use the oil can, wick and matches.
  • After the cut scene, take the garlic.
  • You have all the ingredients for the spell. Leave the kitchen and return to the shed.
  • Click on the table where you made your first spell.
  • Lay out the wooden bowl and all the ingredients for the spell.

  • The poem appears. Add the ingredients to the bowl in the order listed in the poem. Stir twice counter-clockwise then add the potion to the wooden bowl. Click to take it, then click OK.
  • Leave the shed and enter the house.
  • Click the window.

Deadtime Stories


  • Place the grease cleaning mixture on the pile of books. Dip the sponge into the mixture and rub it onto the window panes. To rub, place the sponge over a window pane, then click and hold and move the sponge up and down quickly. Once the pane is clean, you will have to dip the sponge in the mixture again to clean all the panes.
    • Tip: Start cleaning the top panes first!!!!!
  • Click the mirror to start a cut scene. You can now travel to other parts of New Orleans.
  • Click the carriage on the bottom left of the scene.
  • Click “Take me to LaLaurie’s place!”

Deadtime Stories


  • Check the spell book and take the note of the ingredients needed for the next spell.
  • Take the bucket and dirt.
  • Leave this location and go east.
  • Go north.

Deadtime Stories


  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the rope is added to your inventory.
  • Use the bucket to gather ashes from the stove pit.
  • Click the face on the tree. Use the empty vial to fill with blood.
  • Leave this location and south twice to return to the back of LaLaurie’s house.
  • Click the cellar doors. Use the ashes bucket on the door. From the word pieces, click SAL VA TION. The cellar door opens.
  • Enter the cellar.

  • Reposition the mirrors (yellow circles) to shine lights on all three rats (white circles) to make them leave.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the sulfur is added to your inventory.
  • From the shelf that had a rat (white circle above), click to take the seeds.
  • Leave the cellar.
  • At the back of LaLaurie’s house, click the bird house.
  • Put the seed into the bowl at the top. Once a bird flies into a door, click on the lever beside the door to close it. Then click the other levers to close all the doors. Then take the rope and string it from a loop, then click to tie it to each of the knobs in order to secure all the doors, ending with the rope on the second loop.
    • Tip: The rope can be tied to a knob more than once but it cannot go over a lever twice.
  • The feather is now added to your inventory.
  • Leave the location by heading east, then north.
  • Click the purple sparkling area for a hidden object puzzle. Once completed, the metal cutters are added to your inventory.
  • Go south.

Deadtime Stories


  • Use the clippers to take the lily.
  • Use the metal cutters on the locked chest. Take the white dye and saw.
  • Head south.
  • At the back of LaLaurie’s house, click the door. Use the saw, then take the brush.
  • Head out the gate (left) and go to Jessie’s house. Go to the shed and click on the table to make your potion.

  • Lay out all the ingredients for the Reveal Spirits Paint potion. Add the ingredients to the bowl in the order listed in the poem. Stir twice counter-clockwise then add the potion to the can. Click to take it, then click OK.
  • Return to LaLaurie’s house.
  • Place the Spirit Revealing mixture on the rock beside the well. Dip the brush into the mixture. Move it around the screen until you highlight a ghost. Click and hold and “rub” the brush onto the ghost. You are prompted once you are successful.
  • Click to take the mixture and go into the cellar.
  • Place the Spirit Revealing mixture on the table on the left and perform the same actions as the previous location.
  • Take the mixture, leave the cellar and go east.
  • Place the Spirit Revealing mixture on the rock beside the chest and perform the same actions as the location previous.
  • Take the mixture and go north.
  • Place the Spirit Revealing mixture on the rock at the base of the water and perform the same actions as before.
  • Click the ghosts and when they disappear, take the pieces they leave behind.
  • Revisit the other scenes to collect all eight pieces, then return to the location with the gazebo.
  • Click on the gazebo.
  • Place the pieces into their proper locations.
    • Tip: Match the letter in the piece to the first letter of the name on the lock.
  • Click and turn the lock three times counter-clockwise.
  • Watch the cut scene.
  • Go through the gate and click “Take me to the Cajun swamp!”
