Find the Grave

• Watch the intro video.
• The beginning of the game acts as a tutorial. Pay attention.
• The ghost of Nathaniel Hawthorne appears. He will speak to you. Click on the caption’s X or anywhere to close the captions. When he asks you if you will take the case, click anywhere, there is no Yes or No option.
• Your journal opens. Read the entry and click the X or anywhere off the book to continue.

• Click the empty pen and ink to add to your inventory.
• Close the caption. Then take the full ink pen and click on the ghost’s hand.
• A hidden object hunt starts. Click on all the items in the list.

• Once you’re done, click on the ghost to talk to him. Click on the first two conversation options, then he disappears. If you click on the third, he disappears. This does not affect game play.
• The ghost reappears. Click on his hand. When he tells you to find his grave, click anywhere on the screen. Read the journal entries. Look at the map if you wish. Click the X to close it.

• Take the raven. Click on the freshly dug grave to get a clover.
• Click on the blue wavy lines (white circle) to launch a hidden object hunt. Find all the items.

• You have the bolt cutters. Click south to leave the area, then go east.

• Click the grave and take note of the date. Take the shovel blade.
• Click the bridge.
• Go south, then go west.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Click to go to the door.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Use the bolt cutters on the lock. Click on the dice and place them in the appropriate slot. The combination is the year on the grave by the bridge.
  • Solution: 1692.
• Go through the gates, then go west

• Click on the sign to take a clover.
• Take the plaque.
• Go south, then go east. Walk towards the shed.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Click inside the shed to start a hidden object hunt. Find all the items.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Click on the closed door. Take the shovel handle.
• Return to the cemetery where the large statue is (go south three times, south east, then north).

• Take the raven.
• Click on the stone pedestal. Take the clover. Place the plaque in the opening. Have a conversation.
• Combine the shovel blade and shovel handle (place the two pieces in the slots at the far right, then click the + button). Give the shovel to the statue.
• Watch the cutscene.
• Go down the newly dug grave/hole.

Investigate his Death

• Take the raven, clover and railroad spike.
• Click on the tree. Take the serpent cane.
• Click the campfire. Take the college pin.
• Click the blue wavy lines on the left to start a hidden object hunt. Find all the items.

• In your inventory is the beef jerky, sugar cubes, frying pan and matches.
• Go south, then take the northeast path.
• Give the beef jerky to the wolf.
• Go north.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Go towards the train.

• Take the raven and clover.
• Go towards the cabin.

• Take the clover.
• Go through the door.

• Take the clover.
• Talk to the ghosts. Give the serpent cane to the old ghost. He gives you a silver coin.
• Use the college pin on the guard. Talk to the president.
• Go through the doorway (left).

• Take the clover.
• Click on the medicine bag. Talk to the doctor. Take the dropped stethoscope. Click on the desk and examine the items. Click the medicine bag. Take the scalpel.
• Talk to the Nathaniel Hawthorne.
• Click on the blanket.
• Watch the cutscene.

• Use the matches on the lantern.

• Take the clover.
• Go to the right to the engine room.

• Take the clover and the piece of coal.
• Leave the room and go to the left.

• Take the clover and the Morse code manual.

• Take the clover.
• Click on the books. Use the coal on the paper, then click the Morse code manual on it. Using the manual, take note of the “numbers” that appear on the sheet. Leave this scene.
• Click the bust to reveal a safe. Click on the safe. Place the stethoscope on the safe. Start turning the dial clockwise and stop when the stethoscope flashes, then go counter-clockwise, then clockwise again. When the stethoscope flashes green, click the safe handle.
• Click on the opened safe. Enter the numbers from the Morse code sheet.
  • The solution is different each time you play the game.
• Read the entry, then click to add the presidential diary to your inventory.
• Nathaniel Hawthorne’s ghost appears. Use the presidential diary on him.
• Go down the new hole.
